In May 2017 ESRI Italy hosted its Annual Conference in Rome. This year's edition focused, amongst others, on Open Data which can be used in decision-making processes in the public sector.
Every year the ESRI Italy Conference brings together an impressive number of participants and provides a unique opportunity for experience and information exchange on technological developments and opportunities to benefit from (Open) Data. This year, the ESRI 2017 Conference revolved around the opportunities offered by geospatial technologies for digital transformation and the use of data in decision-making processes, with a special focus on the public sector. Of particular interest were the sessions on "The new geoportal of the RNDT" (RNDT is the Italian national catalogue of geo-data), developed by the Agenzia per l'Italia Digitale (Agency for Digital Italy) as well as the presentations given during the session on "Data Driven Decision: an opportunity for public administrations".
The presentations as well as the interviews with the ESRI 2017 speakers and panellists are now available online, on the ESRI Italy website. The conference organisers have also compiled the most interesting moments of the conference into a video that is available on the official YouTube channel of ESRI Italy.
