Data Talks: Copa Cogeca – Data Sharing in Agriculture

Learn how sharing data can benefit the agri-food chain on Wednesday 16 December at 14:00 CET

Save the date and join the EDP and the Support Centre for Data Sharing’s (SCDS) next Data Talks on 16 December at 14:00 CET where we will be joined by and Daniel Azevedo, the Director for Commodities, Trade and Technology at Copa Cogeca, to discuss data sharing and its role in the agriculture sector.

Copa Cogeca is a collaboration of European farmers and European agri-cooperatives. They represent the interests of roughly 40,000 farmers’ cooperatives, totalling 660,000 employees, and generate a global annual turnover of €300 billion. The association functions as the main spokesperson for the entire agricultural and fisheries cooperative sector in Europe.

In the agricultural domain, shared services and collaborative agri-business models are vital to ensure that data driven strategies truly add value to the agri-food chain. To ensure this, the EU and Copa Cogeca set up the EU Code of conduct on agricultural data sharing by contractual agreement. This Code recognises the data originator’s right, whether farmer or another party, to benefit from, or receive compensation for, the use of data created as part of their activity. During this Data Talks session, we will discuss the work that Copa Cogeca is doing in terms of shared services and exchange of data, and how this benefits the agricultural sector as a whole.

Join the session on Wednesday 16 December at 14:00 CET to discover more.
