Madrid joins the International Open Data Charter

First European city to join the International Open Data Charter

The Charter embodies the principles of an Open Data policy and creates a stable framework for cooperation in this field between cities, regions and countries around the world.

The commitment of Madrid covers four areas of work: accountability, technology and innovation, citizen participation and finally transparency.

Madrid wants to make its data available to the public in open formats so better use can be made of the data, in order to achieve an increase in service to citizens in the municipal administration of Madrid.
