European Data Portal at the European Week of Regions and Cities 2020

Join the European Data Portal’s session and workshop at the European Week of Regions and Cities 2020!

The European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) is an annual event where experts, academics and officials from regions and cities across Europe meet and exchange best practices and information on regional and urban development. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event has been extended to take place from 5 to 22 October and will be fully digital with no physical audience. The event offers more than 500 digital working sessions over three consecutive weeks that cover various topics along the three thematic priorities Green Europe; Cohesion and Cooperation; and Empowering Citizens.

This year again, the European Data Portal (EDP) will be speaking and hosting a workshop on Tuesday 13 October:

  • Empowering citizens with data” where Esther Huyer and Laura van Knippenberg from the EDP and Support Centre for Data Sharing (SCDS) team will share insights on how open data and data sharing can empower individuals and businesses at 9:30 to 10:00 CET.
  • Data sharing for better cooperation” where Esther Huyer and Laia Pujol will give a short presentation on data sharing in general and related challenges on a regional and city level before discussing with participants real life examples of organisations and public administrations sharing data and their approach at 16:30 to 18:00 CET.

In addition to the session and workshop, the team is also supporting the EU Datathon 2020 on Thursday 15 October as jury members.
