Major release of DCAT-AP 2.0.0

DCAT-AP 2.0.0 was released on 19 November 2019 and incorporates comments from GitHub

The DCAT Application Profile for data portals in Europe (DCAT-AP) 2.0.0 was released in November 2019.

The DCAT Application Profile for data portals in Europe (DCAT-AP) has been developed in the context of the Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations (ISA) Programme. DCAT-AP is a specification based on the World Wide Web Consortium's (W2C) Data Catalogue vocabulary (DCAT) for describing public sector datasets in Europe. The goal is to enable a portal to implement cross-data searches for datasets and make public sector data better searchable across borders and sectors. This can be achieved by the exchange of harmonised descriptions of datasets among data portals.

The changes implemented by the major release DCAT-AP 2.0.0 are related to the comments mentioned on GitHub after the call for review in early 2019. Examples of some of the changes are that DCAT-AP 2.0.0 is aligned with W3C DCAT 2.0, which introduces the ability to share data services, and that the non-existing controlled vocabularies adms:change_type has been removed. A complete list of the changes and their resolution can be found on the DCAT-AP GitHub.
