Parkopedia: a global platform to find parking spaces

Parkopedia helps user to find the nearest available parking space to their location

Parkopedia is a global parking service founded in the United Kingdom and is available in more than 75 countries, providing users with real-time parking information on more than 60 million parking spaces worldwide. Through the service, users can find the available parking space nearest to their current location or to their destination, and reserve a parking space in advance and pay directly through the application. Available parking spaces include on-street parking, parking garages, and parking lots. In addition, Parkopedia provides users with additional parking information, such as opening hours of garages, prices, distances and routes to the parking spaces.

Parkopedia uses open data from different local authorities and institutions, including data from companies that operate the parking facilities. This data is combined with, for example, sensor data from over 3,000 parking spaces in London. Parkopedia combines these different data sources to deliver real-time space availability to its users.

Parkopedia is one of the over 450 use cases published on the European Data Portal. If you are aware of another inspiring use case, share your experience and knowledge about different applications and websites using open data with the EDP via mail, Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
