News from the Open Data Portals of the EU Member States

"Information systems in public administration are complex and often difficult to develop. Therefore, Finland's Ministry of Finance has selected and put emphasis on expanding Enterprise Architecture in the public sector in Finland. Enterprise Architecture provides the proven set of tools and methods to deal with this complexity; it provides different but interlinked views while keeping the focus on the whole life-cycle of processes, information and systems.

The purpose of using Enterprise Architecture in the public sector is to improve performance and efficiency of ICT. Especially EA is aiming to increase the interoperability and information sharing between organizations and solutions. Interoperability will lead to positive consequences like cost-efficient system development, fast and lean administrative processes and usable information contents. "
