Open Minds Award in Austria

Best Open Data project wanted!

The Open Minds Award 2017 has been launched in Austria. This year's edition is looking for the best projects in three categories: Open Data, Open Hardware, and Open Software.

With this competition, the Open Minds community in Austria is looking to promote Open Source within the broader society. - Open Knowledge Austria, IoT Austria and Linux Wochen have launched the Open Minds Austria competition in order to create a stage for Open Source projects and at the same time provide impulses for developers to come up with projects that are 'open' - by using Open Data, Open Software and Open Hardware. As mentioned on the Open Minds website, open source is an economic heavyweight and a major innovation driver.

The Open Minds Award in the category Open Data is looking for the best Open Data project in Austria. Various projects are invited to participate, ranging from event organisation on the free handling of data to 3D printing of an Open Data set to software applications which are based on or create Open Data. With the subcategories 'women' and 'business', the Open Minds organisers and jury are particularly encouraging developers from these categories to apply.

Are you promoting, using, or producing Open Data and your project has a connection to Austria? Then check out the application requirements here and send in your project by 20 August!

The winners of the Open Minds Award 2017 will be presented during the Open Minds Gala on 26 September 2017 in Vienna. For more information, check out the Open Minds Award website!
