Give your opinion on the EU strategy for data through the online public consultation by 31 May 2020!
The European Union considers data an essential resource for economic growth, competitiveness, innovation, job creation and societal progress in general. The European Commission (EC) will invest in the digital transformation of the union through establishing effective frameworks to ensure trustworthy technologies, and to give businesses the confidence and means to digitise.
The Data Strategy and the White Paper on Artificial Intelligence are the first pillars of the new digital strategy of the EC. They all focus on the need to put people first in developing technology, as well as on the need to defend and promote European values and rights. The European strategy for data aims to create a single market for data that will ensure Europe’s global competitiveness and data sovereignty. Common European data spaces will ensure that more data becomes available for use in the economy and society, while keeping companies and individuals who generate the data in control.
The EC would like to hear your views on its European strategy for data. The results of this survey will feed into possible future EC initiatives on access to, and re-use of, data in the coming months. Therefore, they encourage all citizens to give their opinion on the European strategy for data. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes. The deadline to respond to the consultation is at the end of 31 May 2020. The results of this survey will contribute to possible future Commission initiatives on access to and re-use of data.
