Inspire Conference 2017

10th Anniversary of the INSPIRE Directive

On 4-8 September 2017, the INSPIRE Conference 2017 will take place in Kehl, Germany (on 4-5 September) and Strasbourg, France (on 6-8 September). This year's conference marks the 10th anniversary from the entry into force of the Inspire Directive (Directive 2007/2/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community).

The governments of France and Germany are organising this year's edition together with the European Commission. The organisers remind of the importance of cross-country collaboration in the field of spatial data and beyond. The conference will offer a full week of workshops, plenary discussions, thematic sessions, a poster session, a commercial exhibition as well as social events.

The conference will present an overview of a decade of implementation efforts by the EU, EFTA/EEA and EU Candidate Accession Countries. Furthermore, it will highlight various use cases for spatial data in applications and activities related to e-Government, agriculture, transport, regional development, energy, health, safety and security, as well as research and e-Commerce.

The INSPIRE Conference 2017 is expecting more than 1.000 participants - policy makers, public and private sector users as well as data producers, INSPIRE experts and students from all EU countries and beyond.
