Open Data in Switzerland

First Open Data conference in the French part of Switzerland

On 14 June Swiss Open Data Activists, Data Providers and programmers gathered for their annual conference, organised by the association opendata.ch. As it was the first time for the conference to take place in the French-speaking part of Switzerland "Romandy", the programme focused on Open Data-experiences from this region and was partly in French.

During the conference, participants presented and discussed a wide range of topics form machine-learning to transparent voting and the various Open Data initiatives in Switzerland. This was followed by workshops giving hands on guidance on how to obtain and use Open Data from various sources. To support the community and the momentum of this conference, the Swiss Open Data Portal published 400 additional datasets. Of course, these datasets are now referenced by the European Data Portal as well. The presentations made during the conference are now available online.
