The Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) supports Open Science

The OPERA Collaboration at INFN has published their latest data on the CERN Open Data Portal

The OPERA Collaboration at the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) published the final results of their experiment. The findings demonstrate that muon-neutrinos can convert to tau-neutrinos, through a process called neutrino oscillation. The discovery of this process was awarded the 2015 Nobel Physics Prize.

By publishing the data on the CERN Open Data Portal, researchers outside the OPERA Collaboration can conduct novel research with the data. The datasets include context information and a visualiser to help interpret the data, what makes them also suitable for educational use. Browse the CERN Open Data Portal or find Open Data about science and technology on the European Data Portal.
