GODAN launches open publishing initiative

The Global Open Data for Agriculture & Nutrition (GODAN) initiative has announced the launch of the GODAN Gateway, an open publishing initiative for agriculture and nutrition research. The GODAN Gateway will be hosted on the F1000Research platform. GODAN is aimed at better exploiting existing but often unavailable agriculture and nutrition data. Launched in 2013 following a commitment by G8 countries to share agricultural data, GODAN collaborates with over 500 committed partner organisations to spearhead the Open Data revolution in agriculture and nutrition.

F1000Research is an open science publishing platform that offers publication within a week of submission, followed by invited expert open peer review. The GODAN Gateway is open to contributions from across the research community. Among others, it publishes articles describing Open Data projects relevant to agriculture and nutrition, as well as methods and tools that enable, utilise and analyse such data. It also presents GODAN's outputs including all policy documents, impact reports and discussion papers.
