Prague City Data Congress 2019

The European Data Portal's Gianfranco Cecconi attended the Prague City Data Congress 2019

On 30 and 31 May, Prague hosted the Prague City Data Congress (PCDC) 2019 with the theme: data for conscious smart city. PCDC was organised by two key municipal companies: Operátor ICT, who is responsible for Smart City solutions, and the Prague Institute of Planning and Development. The event aimed to accelerate the sharing of best practices, networking, and community engagement in the sphere of city data.

This year, the event discussed topics such as Sustainability & Community Engagement, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) & Data Platforms, Open Data & Open API, Building Information Modelling & Data Modelling, and Czech Innovation. PCDC attracted speakers from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Autonomy, NewCities, FreeBike, Barcelona Data Office, and the European Data Portal (EDP). The EDP's Gianfranco Cecconi - the project lead for EDP - was invited to discuss open data in Europe and how data can contribute to a smart city and the development of other European countries.
