Do you use Dutch Open Data?

Participate in the "Stuiveling Open Data Award"

Many Dutch applications use Open Data in their service, for example to warn you when it is about to rain or to help order your meal for dinner. These applications can be very popular without users actually knowing that they are (partly) based on Open Data. This is a shame because sharing success stories on Open Data re-use stimulates other developers to make use of this resource for new and innovative applications as well. The Dutch government therefore launched a new award, the Stuiveling Open Data Award (Soda), to make Open Data re-use more visible to the public.

Soda is looking for all forms of Open Data re-use, both from the public and private sector, as long as Open Data from a Dutch public body is used. The competition is open for everyone who has an innovative application or idea of how to use the available data; either an existing one or a (working) prototype. The winner of the award will receive a €20,000 investment in their application, a floating trophy and endless glory. Do you want to catalyse your Open Data project? The competition registration opens in July and all you need to provide is a short description of your project and a one-minute video. Keep a close eye on the site linked below!
