Submit your ideas for the Aporta Challenge 2019

Submit your ideas and participate in the Aporta Challenge 2019 by 23 May 2019 in Spain! This year, the Aporta Challenge will focus on the agriculture, forestry and rural sectors. Participants are invited to submit their ideas and prototypes - based on open data - that aim to address societal challenges such as climate change, food security, population growth or de-population in rural areas to win one of the three prizes. The Aporta Challenge 2019 is organised in two phases:

Phase 1: Ideas competition. Participants must submit a detailed description by 23 May about their original idea and state how it can be used to create or enrich a service, study, web or mobile application in the agriculture, forestry and rural sectors. The ten best ideas will be selected to enter phase 2.

Phase 2: Prototype development and face-to-face presentation. After the ideas have been reviewed, the 10 best ideas that were selected from phase 1 will be invited to create a prototype. This can consist of simulations, visualisations, videos or multimedia solutions. The presentation of prototypes and finalists will take place in October/November 2019.

The three selected prototypes will win one of three prizes:

First prize: € 4,000

Second prize: € 3,000

Third prize: € 2,000
