Save the date: Workshop on Trusted Smart Statistics

Join CROS's workshop on policymaking in the age of the Internet of Things (IoT)

The European Commission's Portal on Collaboration in Research and Methodology for Official Statistics (CROS) is organising the "Workshop on Trusted Smart Statistics: Policymaking in the age of IoT" on 30 and 31 January in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The workshop will discuss the impact the fourth industrial revolution (industry 4.0) and the Internet of Things (IoT) have on our lives, with a focus on Trusted Smart Statistics, Smart cities and Smart mobility. To clarify, Trusted Smart Statistics is a service provided by smart systems that embed auditable and transparent data life-cycles, ensure the validity and accuracy of outputs, respect data subjects' privacy and protect peoples' confidentiality.

Examples of planned sessions are:

  • Trusted Smart Statistics and the state of the evolving IoT ecosystem.
  • Smart city technologies as sources for new official statistic?
  • Smart city - opportunities and experiences of data usage.
  • Developing smart statistics for urban mobility: challenges and opportunities.
