Denmark launches Open Data FinTech challenge

FinTech challenge starts 2 October

Today, Denmark starts the FinTech Open Data Challenge: a public contest for Open Data driven FinTech solutions. The challenge is organised by the Danish Partnership for Open Public Data (including the Danish Business Authority, Open Data DK, Local Government Denmark and Danish Regions) in cooperation with Copenhagen Fintech.

Denmark has a strong Open Data position and enjoys a vast adoption of technology within the financial sector. The integration of finance, technology and data offers an opportunity to further strengthen the re-use of public Open Data. By harvesting Danish Open Data portals, the European Data Portal currently provides more than 1500 Danish datasets. The FinTech challenge triggers citizens and businesses to turn freely available data into new business opportunities.

Participants can submit contributions into three categories: InsureTech, Banking and FinTech in general. The challenge runs until 3 November 2017. Best solutions for each of the three categories are rewarded 100,000 DKK, during the closing event on 15 November. Danish (and English) submissions can be made via the website of Challenges.dk. Have a look at it and give it a go!
