How long does a tourist visit London? And where do these tourists come from?

Most international tourists visit London for less than a week. These tourists most often come from France.

Travelling is a great way to relax and explore parts of the world. With the summer approaching, people are planning trips to numerous interesting places all over the globe. One of the most popular destinations of trips like these is London, both for short and long term visits. But how long are those tourists actually staying? And where do they come from? Because of the Open Data published by London on its tourists we can answer these questions.

The majority of international stay for less than a week when visiting London. From the graph it can also be seen that over the years, the number of visits to London has fluctuated but since 2009 a still ongoing increase is measured. Note that the organisation of the Olympic Games in 2012 in London can not clearly be identified in the graph.
