The second edition of "Barcelona Dades Obertes" announced this year's three winners and their projects

On 8 May, the Factory of Creation of Fabra I Coats hosted the Barcelona Open Data Challenge 2019 (original title: Barcelona Dades Obertes 2019) - an event that aims to promote the use of the open data published on the Open Data BCN website. The event had more than 300 participants, including students, teachers and representatives from institutions and organisations that specialised in data. The European Data Portal's Esther Huyer spoke at the beginning of the event about the importance and the potential impact of open data and congratulated all teams for their inspiring contribution. Afterwards, the three winners and their projects were announced:

1st prize: Institut Vila de Gràcia with their work "Gentrification in the neighbourhoods of Barcelona".

2nd prize: ECAT Institut Luïsa care with their work "Evolution of commerce in the neighbourhoods of Barcelona".
