Release of accounting data in Estonia
Data from different levels of government made available
In 2011, all the accounting data of local governments was made available as Open Data. Since the beginning of 2016, other sectors of the central government released accounting data as well. All accounting data from the different institutions is accessible via the State Finances application. It does not only include data from central government, but from NGO-s, enterprises, foundations and social security funds as well.
Users can view, download, compare and analyse the data using a state of the art business intelligence software platform. The service aims at increasing transparency and accessibility in Estonia, stimulating public awareness around accounting information and initiate discussions on the involvement of civil society.
