Open Data reveals talent
In Tennis, every move, every point is being tracked. But none of it is made accessible in a machine readable way. The project 20 years, 20 Titels analyses all available data from the last 20+ years of tennis, including all matches ever played by Roger Federer. The study reveals how he became the best tennis player of all time. The project makes all analysed data, the used code, the results and the making of openly available.
The approach of the project is rare in data journalism. By making it understandable by non-data and non-tennis experts, the results gained international recognition and were translated into seven languages in collaboration with Swissinfo.
