New study on user needs in Sweden

Who are the users of the data portal?

As a part of the ongoing work of the Swedish National Archives to create access to digital information and Open Data, a survey on user needs will be carried out in the next few months. With this study, the National Archives would like to identify the type of users of the national Open Data portal and the kind of information they are looking for. With this information, the team managing the portal can better tailor their services to the needs of the user community.

A survey will be carried out as a questionnaire to get insights from two main user groups: users of the national Open Data portal that are providing data for re-use and end-users who are searching and using information for the creation of innovative services and products, such as applications. These user groups are sometimes overlapping. A state authority for instance can be a producer of data, a collector of data and also a user of Open Data from other authorities.

In addition to the survey, a national reference group for Open Data & Public Sector Information is currently being installed. A user-analysis will be one of the central themes that will be discussed within this national reference group. If you are an expert in the area of Open Data user analysis, the National Archives invite you to share your experience and views. This can be done by sending an email to this email address.
