On Wednesday June 7, 2017, the Geo IoT World 2017 took place in Brussels. During the Geo IoT World 2017 conference, a new initiative was announced engaging the wide Indoor Mapping community towards interoperable indoor data, launched by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), the InLocation Alliance (ILA) and the i-locate project.
The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), the InLocation Alliance (ILA) and the i-locate project, which was co-funded by the ICT-PSP programme of the European Commission, joined forces to promote shareable maps and indoor location information standards for the benefit of the industry and users of indoor location services.
The statement was followed by the announcement of the winners of the Geo IoT World Awards winners.
This year's Geo IoT winners are:
- In the category 'IoT Solutions empowered by GNSS' - CROWDLOC Platform by CROWDLOC;
- In the category 'Indoor Location & Proximity Services' - TRACKO by Onyx Beacon;
- In the category 'Location Intelligence' - Wittra by Wittra Sweden;
- In the category 'IoT Network' - Ultra-Wideband RTLS enabling Industry 4.0 by Sewio Networks.
