Finland opens up legal information

Legal databank Finlex now available as Open Data

After already hosting 'public' data, since 10 March, Finlex also provides its data in a machine readable format under an Open Data licence. By offering the data under these conditions, the Finnish Ministry of Justice offers the opportunity to develop new means and channels for citizens, public administration and companies to make use of the vast legislation and case-law database. The portal is developed in a joint partnership with Aalto University and the University of Helsinki and has published most of its architecture online. Want to know more about the portal and project behind it? If you speak Finnish there is detailed information available on http://data.finlex.fi/#/project.
