In Greece, reaping the potential of the knowledge and digital economy is at the top of the strategic targets of the government as shown by the establishment of the Ministry of Digital Policy. Simultaneously, comparable policy ambitions are formulated at the international and European level. To explore both policy developments and their possible synergies, the Digital Government Conference has been organised; it will take place on 13 December in Athens.
During the conference policy makers and senior executives will come together to learn about and discuss both developments to see how the public administration can be modernised by the introduction of digital technologies. To inform visitors of the developments in Greece and Europe and of the opportunities they bring, the various projects will be presented by a number of Greek and international speakers. To inform the participants about the potential of Open Data and its development in the European landscape, also the European Data Portal will be presented. Representatives of the Greek government and local executives will present national policies such as the "National Digital Strategy 2016-2021".
