A virtual hackathon was organised from 27-30 March by volunteers of the AustrianStartups Community, with support of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs, the corporate and public sector. Hack the Crisis Austria was looking for ideas to tackle challenges in the areas of health, emergency response, education, business and anything else.
The Hackathon was a success, these ideas originated from the hackathon. Over 40 project teams have submitted their proposals for jointly tackling the crisis. The project Public Spacers was selected as the winner. The project team developed a recommendation system that can be integrated into the apps of public transport providers and distributes passengers on trains in such a way that they can keep enough distance.
