Poland publishes open data good practice guide

Read the Polish government's experience in opening public data

In July 2019, the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs published the "Open data. Good practice guide". The good practice guideline is part of the project "Open data - access, standard, education" that aims to increase the availability and quality of open data and its re-use.

The guide describes the basic framework for the process of opening data by referencing relevant legal acts, identifying desired institutional settings, and presenting practical scenarios for data opening in government offices. "Open data. Good practice guide" focuses on covering the most important legal regulations affecting the opening and usage of public data and shows inter-institutional and non-institutional cooperation models that have worked best in this context. Furthermore, the guide shows how to implement the data opening process effectively and gives guidance on the standards for data openness.

The good practice guide is written for managers and employees in central and local government administration offices, representatives of non-governmental organisations, and to those who base their knowledge of public administration activities on data generated and processed in public institutions.
