New version of the Italian Open Data portal now online

Dati.gov.it on the move

On 8 March, a new version of the Italian National Open Data portal dati.gov.it was released. One of the key characteristics of this new portal is that it automatically updates the metadata of the various local catalogues harvested by the national portal. The new design of the portal is in line with the Design Guidelines for web services of public administrations in Italy.

The new portal was presented during the webinar 'Come organizzarsi per gli Open Data', which is one of the events that takes place within the context of Italy's Open Administration Week. The new portal serves as the starting point for the Italian Open Data community, and it uses the national metadata standard DCAT-AP_IT. Another new development is its focus on awareness raising activities, with a section that pools and presents all the initiatives and activities around the theme of Open Data, including use cases that illustrate how Open Data can be used in the private sector.
