4th European Language Resource Coordination Conference

Today is the first day of the 4th ELRC Conference in Helsinki, Finland

Today marks the beginning of the two-day Fourth European Language Resource Coordination (ELRC) Conference in Helsinki, Finland. The main goal of the ELR Conference is to overcome one of the biggest challenges that Europe and the national public services are facing today in their interaction with citizens and other organisations: exchanging information across the language barrier.

This conference will focus on shaping Europe's multilingual future through sharing language data. There will be a variety of talks and panel discussions that will provide a critical analysis of challenges that countries are currently facing in relation to sharing and using language data. Speakers and panellists will represent the European Commission and the European Parliament, language technologists, language service providers, and public administrations and governments across Europe. The full programme is available online.

The European Data Portal's (EDP) Esther Huyer will be speaking at the event. Are you attending the event? Talk to Esther about open language data available on the EDP.
