Analytical map of traffic offences and minor criminality in Pilsen

InnoConnect was founded in 2016 as a digital innovation start-up company located in Plzen (Pilsen), Czech Republic and Brussels, Belgium. The team aims at delivering location intelligence in the fields of smart cities, smart mobility, Internet of Things, open data and geo-data analytics and visualisation.

Their interactive web map helps the city of Plzen to discover trends and patterns in their security-related data provided by the Municipal Police, e.g. to identify areas with the highest risk of minor criminality, streets with most frequent parking, driving or speed violations, locations with pedestrian or cyclist offences or neighbourhoods with alcohol- and drug-related offences. The solution is a web-based map application coupled with analytical tools. It runs on WebGLayer, a javascript open source library developed for rendering heatmaps with built-in dynamic data filtering. The application visualises almost 50.000 incidents reported by the Municipal Police of Plzen within one year.
