Zukunftskongress to take place in Germany

Conference on 20 and 21 June 2017

In the summer of 2013, the German government launched the conference for digital government and modernisation ('Zukunftskongress) under the auspices of the Federal Minister of the Interior. Annually, the conference gives important impulses in order to meet the organisational and structural challenges of the digitalisation of the state and the administration, while at the same time taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the digital revolution.

This year, the fifth edition will take place in Berlin on 20 and 21 June under the theme 'Germany before the election: Digital upturn or analogous standstill?'. Up to 1,500 representatives from the federal level, state level and municipalities in the DACH-region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) will discuss and elaborate new ideas, solutions and recommendations to pave the way for a modern and efficient administration.

Open Data is expected to be part of the discussions, as topics to be covered during the conference include 'an open, safe and efficient administration' and 'open government now'.
