Looking back at the Open Data Days in Düsseldorf

Data enthusiasts gathered together in the city of Düsseldorf to celebrate open data

On 5 July 2019, the Open Data Days Düsseldorf (ODDD2019) took place in the central library of Düsseldorf, Germany. ODDD2019 is an annual international event to promote awareness and use of open data. The event is an opportunity to show the benefits of open data and to encourage the adoption of open data policies in government, business and civil society. The open data team from Düsseldorf organised different sessions about the benefits, re-use and impact of open data, such as:

  • Open data in education,
  • Practical training in wikidata,
  • Podium discussion on citizen engagement,
  • The use of open data for seasonal cooking, and
  • The benefits of open geodata for infrastructure.
